| | | Issued in 2008 by Radiohead's former label, Capitol, this compilation surveys the innovative British alternative-rock band's first six albums, ranging from 1993s formative PABLO HONEY to `03s restless HAIL TO THE THIEF. Not surprisingly, many songs on the non-chronological 16-track collection are pulled from THE BENDS and OK COMPUTER, mid-'90s records that elevated the group, first, to widescreen majesty (see the expansive "High and Dry"), and, then, art-rock glory (the dynamic, prog-leaning "Paranoid Android").
Although BEST OF, which was not selected with the band's involvement, downplays Radiohead's more electronic-oriented output, featuring only two tunes from KID A (most notably, the warm, atmospheric "Everything in Its Right Place")... [more] | | [+] Click here to order |

| | | After the dazzling reception of 1999's When Your Heartstrings Break, Beulah wasn't concerned with following things up with something fashionable. The bandmembers were near masters of crafting the perfect pop song — for themselves — and quite comfortable with the process. The Coast Is Never Clear captures Beulah's classy cool indie pop, akin to what came before. Singer/songwriter Miles Kurosky's quirky lyrical rants are spry, and the personal experiences behind each song allude to Beulah's unabashed nature. From the twangy licks of the bittersweet "Popular Mechanics for Lovers" to the psychedelic soul tinker of "A Good Man Is Easy to Kill," Beulah gives way to a breaking heart. Sulking and wistful, the theme works and it's not beyond measure.... [more] | | [+] Click here to order |

| | | Due to an issue with track one on side C having a "tick" through approximately the first two minutes, the records have been returned to the pressing plant to have the second disc re-pressed and replaced. Unfortunately this means the records are now not available for shipping, but we would rather there be a slight delay in order for you to receive an audiophile quality record.
Thanks in advance for your patience with the slight further delay whilst the records are replaced.

Limited edition of 500 copies pressed on white vinyl - exclusive to Aural Exploits.
In addition to the regular 180 gram black vinyl version of Rid Of Me, this very special limited edition of only 500 copies pressed on white vinyl is an Aural Exploits exclusive.
PJ Harvey's second album, 1993's Rid Of Me, is an art-punk classic that pushes the genre, and with it the listener, to extremes. Alternating between searing noise/feedback and sparse open spaces, Rid Of Me is truly an emotional experience. As usual, legendary producer Steve Albini maximizes every sound and space, working with that exacting, mechanical precision that he has come to be known for, the perfect complement to Harvey's... This, M Ward's third album, places him in the forefront of a modern movement that is clearly progressive while simultaneously sounding regressive, feeling dusty with age, and manifesting
a genius that is pure and untempered. His music defies description except to say it is coming from somewhere seeped in the early blues with a Neil Young overlay and the feel of country, blues, pop, and folk. I am... [more] | | [+] Click here to order |

Low visionary Alan Sparhawk cranks the amps for a radical stylistic departure. Crude, mangy guitars collide with trudging stoner-rock rhythms and some catchy melodies - for modern-day spirituals that defy all preconceptions.

| | | Thomas Function | | Celebration - colored vinyl | | | Thomas Function is an odd name for a band, but then again, this is a pretty peculiar group. The garage band hails from (sweet home) Alabama, and its ebullient take on the '60s is shot through with Southern sensibility, from C&W to bluegrass, R&B to the blues.... | | | Moby | | Last Night | | | On Last Night, Moby is as blissfully out of touch with modern club music as he is current.
